Japanese Mascots Do Battle!!!

I love this video for a number of reasons:

1. Look at all the Mascots! There’s about 12 of them down there!
2. Those Mascots are vicious! They are knocking each other down, throwing balls at each other, I think I saw one stab another.
3. The players are still on the field during the race. I was almost hoping the game was still on. Now that would be a game!
4. Look at all that crazy writing on the outfield walls! What is this, “cuckoo land”?
5. The Phillie Phanatic looking Mascot is named “Slyly” from the Hiroshima Carps. He is “played” by my former CSz teammate Timmy Weir! An American actor as a Japanese Mascot? Whaaa? A brief history:

-Timmy graduated from college with a degree in Theater.
-Timmy got a job as Tux the mascot for the Scranton Penguins. (This is before all “The Office” hype. Awwww, sorry Timmy.)

-Timmy lives in Scranton for two years. (Awwww, sorry Timmy.)
-Timmy gets called up to be mascot for the Hiroshima Toyo Carp.

-Timmy moves to Japan; teaches the ball players English and improv games.
-The Carp are in 7th Place this season. Way to go Timmy!
